Climbing legend comes to Australia

Joe’s Basecamp presents an Evening with Sir Chris Bonington

In February 2018, Everest training centre and gym Joe’s Basecamp invites you to a rare and exclusive evening to celebrate a life of adventure with Sir Chris Bonington. The event will be held at the Hayden Orpheum theatre in Cremorne, and proceeds will go to the Australian Himalayan Foundation.

Featuring at the event is the Australian Premiere of the film that headlined BANFF 2017, ‘Bonington Mountaineer My Life Story’. This will be followed by an exclusive interview with Sir Chris talking about his extraordinary life as a mountaineer, and his compelling memoir “Ascent”.

Joe Bonington of Joe’s Basecamp, an AHF Ambassador and son of Sir Chris Bonington, is presenting the evening, which adds a beautifully personal touch to the event. The interview with Australian adventurer and documentary producer Justin “Jonesy” Jones will cover Sir Chris’ story of love, loss, life and legacy, and his tales of climbing the worlds most challenging peaks.

Heralded as “the David Attenborough of mountaineering” by The Times, for one night only, listen to Sir Chris Bonington as he shares personal insights of his life, followed by a book signing of his latest autobiography “Ascent”. Whether you are an armchair enthusiast or a committed adventurer, this night will delight, inspire and move you.

This event will raise funds for the Australian Himalayan Foundation (AHF) and is one not to be missed.
